"The Women's Union was kind of an accidental place for me, since transfers live in Walker their first year. It was the first place where I felt like I could be there and just do what I wanted. I feel so blessed to be able to work at the WU with some of my best friends and create conversations and spaces that are safe, but also challenge the norm.

Especially as a white-passing Latina, the WU has made it a lot easier because I don't have to prove to them that I am Mexican or any of my other identities I choose to live with. The WU is the one place I feel that has fostered my growth, and I hope that the work that I do and that the WU continues to do will help create a similar experience for others."
