"Dean Townes' office represents a place where I can grow and develop with an immense amount of support and knowledge from someone wiser than me. Dean Townes is also a Black man, and I feel like he gives me hope and faith in myself that I can become a successful Black individual and be able to fight for my communities like he has done for so long on these campuses. He has been a significant mentor for me throughout my journey at Pomona, so his office also represents me growing into my racial identity. 

His office is also a place where I can fight for other communities that I'm a part of, like Quest. Being a low-income, first-generation student is not easy, and with the help of the conversations I've had in Dean Townes' office, I've been able to build a supportive community for myself and others."
