"I'm a mentor for the Asian American Mentor Program (AAMP). I really found my niche at Pomona through AAMP. I truly believe it's a safe space for us to talk about what it means to be AAPI, the model minority myth, and where AAPIs belong in people of color movements. AAMP fosters a sense of openness and vulnerability without the fear of being judged for personal opinions."

"The AARC has been a safe, supportive space for me and I've met a lot of really amazing people through it. Everyone at the AARC thinks very critically and they always challenge me.

At CMC, when you try to talk about certain issues, they've already made up their mind. They don't really explore the other side. At the AARC, I've been driven to think about issues in a different light as opposed to CMC professors saying things like, 'Privilege isn't a real thing and the wage gap doesn't exist!'

At the AARC, I feel like I don't have to fight all the time. Even if we do disagree, it's different. It's a learning thing, whereas at CMC, they just want to shut you down."
